Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron were born in 1950. They both attended the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Z?rich. Since their graduation Herzog and Meuron worked together.

In 1978 they founded Herzog & de Meuron Architekten /a Swiss architecture firm/ headquatered in Basel, Switzerland.

In 2001, Herzog & de Meuron received architectures highest honour the Pritzker Prize.
